The services of a horticulturist is required as you will be responsible for overseeing the growth, harvesting, packaging, selling and distribution of flowers/crops.
Responsibilities:
overseeing the cultivation and maintenance of ornamental plants/flowers
managing weed/pest/disease control programmes
ensuring compliance with community regulations and legislation, eg organic cultivation requirements
organising horticultural trials
analysing horticultural yields, operational costs and financial returns
negotiating contracts with buyers and suppliers
liaising with colleagues, local officials, customers, professional groups etc
ensuring that deadlines and quality standards are met within set budgets
organising/giving presentations and demonstrations
Qualifications:
Minimum of OND in horticulture, agricultural Science, soil/earth sciences, environmental science.
Skills and Requirements:
horticultural skills and knowledge, evidence of initiative/innovative, commercial awareness and good problem-solving, communication, team working and organisational skills.
