Site manager - Lagos

A construction company needs the services of a Site Architects:
Job Purpose:
• Responsible for creating building designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments.
• Employ specialist design and construction knowledge combined with high level drawing skills to develop building plans that incorporate functionality, safety and cutting-edge design.
• Play a key super visional role during construction adapting the plans according to budget constraints, environmental factors or client needs.
• Operate as part of an overall project team working closely with a range of professionals from quantity surveyors to building services engineers.

Job Summary:

Roles and Responsibilities

• Discussing the objectives, requirements and budget of a project;
• Consulting with other professionals about the design of an environment;
• Preparing and presenting feasibility reports and design proposals to the client;
• Advising the client on the practicality of their project;
• Using IT in design and project management, specifically using computer-aided design software;
• Keeping within financial budgets and deadlines;
• Producing detailed workings, drawings and specifications;
• Specifying the nature and quality of materials required;
• Preparing tender applications and presentations;
• Negotiating with contractors and other professionals;
• Preparing applications for planning and building control departments;
• Preparing tender documents for contracts;
• Project managing and helping to coordinate the work of contractors;
• Controlling a project from start to finish;
• Regular site visits to check on progress, ensuring that the project is running on time and to budget;
• Resolving problems and issues that arise during construction;
• Ensuring that the environmental impact of the project is managed.


OUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor of architecture degree, which requires five years of full-time study. Others may complete a master’s degree in architecture after earning a bachelor’s degree in another field.
CCNP certification will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 3 yrs. experience as a SITE Architects /Engineer
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• High levels of creativity, imagination and vision.
• A keen interest in the built environment and the dedication to see projects to their conclusion.
• Willingness to work long hours, under time and budget pressure.
• Excellent design and drafting skills and proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD).
• Strong mathematical skills.
• A keen eye for the detail of specific tasks, combined with an understanding of how such specifics fit in with the project as a whole.
• Organisational, project management and planning skills, including the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
• An analytical mind with excellent problem-solving ability.
• Leadership skills as well as the ability to work well within a team of other professionals.
